My baby boy started cub scouts yesterday night. On the way home in the car he must have said twenty times "I really love cub scouts!" First thing he asked me this morning, "How many more days until I get to go to cub scouts again?" Thanks Bro LeBaron and Bro Haueter for making his first time at scouts so great. (He was even practicing his push-ups this morning just in case the boys get rowdy again.)  — with Sheldon Maughan.

Practice With All Your Might/ Anatolia Talent Show

Rachel got up from sitting at the piano practicing for this weeks talent show at church.  I was sitting in the living room listening to her and I got up at the same time she did and walked behind her into the kitchen.  As I walked by the piano I turned off the piano light and said, "Turn off the light when you are done practicing".  Rachel turned around and said, "huh?" and I repeated myself.  Then she said, "Ohhh, I thought you said, "Practice with all your might!"  Which made me laugh and I jokingly said, "Yeah right, I would really say, Practice with all your might!"  Then she said, "Well you do say weird stuff like that sometimes!"....

Sunday afternoon hike with girls

Amanda stopped by and we decided to go on a short hike. We got a late start, so it was a good thing that I had my headlamp. On the way back we saw two little yellow eyes looking back at us in the trees and realized it was an owl. Rachel was a little scared about hiking in the dark until I gave her my phone for a flashlight. -Dad
