Real Men Wear Pink

Sheldon and Jared came home from church today and made dinner because I stayed home, not feeling so great. They had to go home-teaching after dinner so Jared, wanting to stay clean, borrowed his sister's pink apron. Julia is visiting her great-grandmother so wasn't here to object. He looked so darn cute I had to get up and take a picture; Jared was surprisingly OK with it! Seriously there is nothing better than when your husband and kids take over meal preparations when you're feeling sick.

Jared making au gratin potatoes for the first time.

Helping his Dad pound the chicken flat and
adding the chopped garlic and herbs
Sheldon can't resist using his barbeque fork on Jared...
Being sweet and helpful...this had to be documented on my blog so I would remember that his 14th year was not all arguing and exasperation. Love You, Jared
Thanks for being such a great son today!

The Twins and Ledyards Visit

So cute the way they mixed and matched their swim suits.
Rachel was in heaven with both cousins to play with for a few days.

Catching up my blog...these pictures were from the 9th and 11th.
After the baby shower, Jessica and Jourdan, Sheldon's sister Sabrina's twins, stayed for a visit while Julia went to visit Amber at Sabrina's house. They got picked up that Tuesday morning and then Wednesday my good friend from when I lived in Pine Grove, who now lives in Elk Grove came to visit, catch up and talk homeschooling. Wendy Ledyard is one of those friends who I instantly liked...We met in the nursery at Pine Grove; Rachel and her twin girls were only a few months apart and her two older girls were the same age as Julia and Jared. She was a first year homeschooler so was excited to meet someone who had been homeschooling for a while...that was about 5 or 6 years ago.

Zoe 8 Days Old

Brandon is a Daddy so in love with his little Zoe. Rachel was super happy to get
to hold her adorable niece.

Pure joy to feed Zoe a bottle today. As Rachel and David gently rubbed her soft head, Zoe's sighs of contentment were precious to hear. When Zoe wrapped her little hand around mine to hold on as I fed her the bottle I can't describe how blessed and happy I felt to be holding my sweet little grand-daughter! Grandpa Sheldon took a break from work to come get a Zoe fix too... She seriously is addictingly sweet! Zoe loves to hear her Daddy's voice...her little face blossomed into the biggest smile as he was talking to her! Soooo Precious!

This smilebox has the video I took of Brandon talking to Zoe when she smiled this big smile...

Brandon's Smilebox of Zoe & Meeting Aunties Julia and Rachel and Uncle David

Brandon sent me a smilebox of some pictures of Zoe with a video of her with hiccups at the end, then I added the pictures of Zoe meeting her Aunties Julia and Rachel and her Uncle David taken on the day she came home from the hospital, 8/19.
(Jared was at Taekwondo, so hasn't met his new niece yet).
Brandon called me when he was on his way to work today and told me that Zoe had a doctor's appointment today. The doctor said she was perfectly healthy and she now weighs 8lbs 4oz, up 6oz from her birth weight of 7lbs 14oz.

David's World

Mommy: "What are you doing?
David: "Killing people"
Mommy: "That's not very nice!"
David: "But Mommy, they're EVIL!"

David was using his sword the other day to scratch his back and said, "This thing makes the best backscratcher!"

Julia Leaving for Girls Camp

My sweet girl Julia, is off to her first year of girls camp this morning...her Daddy is one of the drivers up to Camp Bountiful. Julia has been in a whirl-wind of activity packing for camp these past few days. As she was walking out the garage door to get in the car to leave, I saw her bathing suit on top of the dryer and said, "Don't you need your bathing suit?" to which she immediately said, "Yes! Thank-you MOM!" She then went on to tell me how worried she was she would forget it and she almost did! It's nice to know she still needs her Mommy to save her day every once in awhile:)

Julia after she has arrived at Camp Bountiful and is all checked in.

This picture was taken Saturday, the 31st, the day Julia arrived home from camp.

Rachel's first amusement park boat ride!

This picture was taken in the summer of 2003, Jared was 8 and Rachel was almost 2. Jared had just been taken on this exact boat ride...he was extremely mad at me for taking him on something that not only scared him but got him wet too!

Swimming with Friends

Were enjoying swimming while we can; only a few more months left. Rachel said, this morning, "It's going too fast!" and Julia chimed in, "I don't want school to start in a little more than a month!!"
